A data and time efficient method of compiling picture content by editing at a reduced resolution. Choices made during this process are logged in an Edit Decision List (EDL) before handover to Conform and Online editorial. Whilst we routinely support Avid, Final Cut, 2D and 3D workflows, we can also accommodate those requiring less commonplace editorial systems.

Once a picture is locked, we then send you high-resolution images which are now conformed to match the offline perfectly. We recreate your cuts, dissolve and change speed; all this with the original resolution. Once conformed, additional specialized effects can be added. CGI and VFX can be introduced and a method for grading or post-grading finishing can be planned. Titles sequences, idents, logos and end rollers can be incorporated in order to carry out the final audio layback.

Flame Premium

Flame Premium is the most preferred industry tool that offers seamless perfection in color-grading, compositing, editing and finishing with an integrated toolset for 3D visual effects, color grading, and editorial finishing. Flame Premium provides you with real-time color grading and a full-timeline finishing workflow.

Avid/ FCP

The industry recommended non-linear digital editing software, create top-notch multiple versions of the content and gives freedom to creative geniuses to explore more and more possibilities. Here we have the most elaborate sets of Apple Design Hardware and 3 Party Support Hardware.

Digital Scanner

The unique digital scanner is the first of its kind in Mumbai. Its arrival heralds the demise of the Telecine and film transfer as we know it. What you shoot is what you get, which enables you to derive the most from your negative while color timing. The preferred image file formats used as an output are usually Cineon, DPX or TIFF, as they are able to store color information as raw data, preserving the optical characteristics of the film stock. The scanner creates digitally pin registered images eliminating telecine shake.

Scans 4K, 2K, HD and SD of all variants of 35mm and 16mm with multiple synchronous file formats. The scanner uses a continuous film transport servo system, using a capstan and a Laser light source. Transfer speeds are up to: 13 frame/s @ 2K.

Autodesk Lustre

The films that keep viewers most involved are the ones that have been cleverly and meticulously color graded by a talented colorist. The digital intermediate (DI) process allows colorists to explore creative looks and effects using color and light. Some effects are subtle, such as highlighting a character’s face as she speaks; others are dramatic, like adding light or removing it from a scene post-production. That’s the power of color and where Autodesk Lustre color grading software shines. Its high-performance, color-grading and color management software not only makes your shots look better than real, but it also addresses your creative needs. New creative tools, such as Stereoscopic capabilities, graphics processing unit (GPU) accelerated plug-ins, streamlined project management, and new editorial capabilities allow colorists to spend more time on unlimited-look design and creation, and less time on managing workflows

Scratch

Scratch lets you colorize and edit for last moment changes. It’s a technology that supports all new digital file formats of industry with multilevel primary and secondary color grading facilities without any restriction. It is the only platform that allows you to have multiple formats on the same timeline.

Our team of engineering experts has a proven track record in assessing, mending, cleaning and digitizing all formats of linear film, analogue and digital media and archive stills. This process is carried out in carefully controlled conditions using fastidiously maintained legacy replay machines combined with the highest quality digital recording systems that current technology can offer.

This last point is of primary concern to our Archive clients who may only have one opportunity to digitize content that has deteriorated over time. Keeping this and the inevitable future demands for enhanced quality consumer media in mind, we have opted to install a scanner at our facility – capable of ingesting up to 2k resolution.

Once digitized, many clients opt to commission further Picture Restoration and/or Sound restoration services from us to prepare the title for onward sale. Whilst digitized assets are more easily distributed and consumed, one must also take account of the effects that evolving technology has on their continued commercial exploitation. New file formats, electronic storage media and developing consumer trends should all be considered when providing a long-term digital storage solution.

Under our restoration division the following services are offered:

• Archival Restoration and Preservation - This includes fixing film for de-flicker, fungus, dirt, scratches or damaged frames from torn perforations or video drop-outs.
• Colorizing - Converting the old black and white films to color.
• Dimension Conversion - The conversion of 2D films to 3D, adding depth to an otherwise flat 2D image.

Content owners face ongoing challenges in order to commercialize their archived assets. While carefully controlled storage conditions can help to stabilize historic media, physical assets in particular do deteriorate over time.
